How long does semi-permanent makeup take to heal?

  • The aftercare provided is a general guide for all clients, however the healing process is unique to each individual client
  • Upon completion of every procedure, full and thorough aftercare advice is given to ensure all treatments are fully looked after to achieve the best healed result. You can return to all normal activities straight after treatment

Downtime 
Straight after treatment

Eyebrows

  • slight swelling may be present but not visible, for approx. 1 hour
  • redness may be present for approx. 1 hour
  • no discomfort usually follows 
  • eyebrows may feel ‘tight’ for 24 hours
  • eyebrows will darken within 1 hour

Eyeliner

  • slight swelling may be present
  • slight bruising may be present 
  • ​antihistamines can be used to help reduce swelling 
  • slight discomfort can last approx. 24 hours
  • pain killers can be used to ease discomfort
  • refrain from contact lenses for 48 hours if possible
  • bring glasses with you to your eyeliner appointment


Lips

  • slight swelling will be present
  • slight bruising will be present 
  • antihistamines can be used to help reduce swelling
  • discomfort can be felt once numbing wears off
  • tingling and throbbing feeling once numbing wears off, can last approx. 1 hour
  • pain killers can be used to ease discomfort
  • lips will darken within one hour


24 hours after treatment

  • colour of brows or lips will look darker
  • swelling may still be present for eyes and lips (the amount differs for each client)
  • swelling is usually present in the morning and reduces within an hour of being in an upright position
  • discomfort usually resides 
  • lips will feel dry
  • eyeliner bruising usually subsides 

7-10 days after treatment

  • This is the general healing time for all treatments, however, can be faster or slower depending on the healing process of each individual client
  • colour will darken during the healing process
  • treatment area may feel dry
  • between days 5-10 lips will be dry and flaky
  • between days 7-10 the treatment will be dry and flaky for eyebrows and eyeliner
  • once flaking has come away the colour will be very light and, in some cases, almost non existent 


2 weeks after treatment

  • colour gradually returns over the next few weeks 
  • fully healed, treatments are approx. 20% lighter than initial appointment
  • procedure area will feel dry and may be visibly dry
  • natural moisturising products can be used to relieve dryness 
  • cosmetic products can be used before 4-week perfecting session


4 weeks after treatment
Eyebrows and eyeliner 

  • ​top up session will be attended to assess shape, colour and retention
  • ​alterations can be made to perfect the treatment 
  • the same healing and aftercare process will be as per first session 


6 weeks after treatment
Lips

  • ​top up session will be attended to assess shape, colour and retention
  • ​alterations can be made to perfect the treatment 
  • the same healing and aftercare process will be as per first session
