alopecia cases

Alopecia is a frequently recurrent and often aggressive condition that causes hair loss in men, women and children. Little is understood about what causes Alopecia, and even less about how to cure it or halt its progress. Scalp micropigmentation remains the only Alopecia solution to provide guaranteed results.

Many people first experience Alopecia during their childhood years, with repeated symptoms often manifesting much later in life. The condition can come and go or alter in its severity, however for many sufferers, Alopecia becomes a lifelong condition with no effective remedy.

what is alopecia

alopecia explained

Many people first experience Alopecia during their childhood years, with repeated symptoms often manifesting much later in life. The condition can come and go or alter in its severity, however for many sufferers, Alopecia becomes a lifelong condition with no effective remedy.

Although standard genetic hair loss is considered a form of Alopecia (Androgenetic), the most common form of abnormal Alopecia is known as Alopecia Areata, seen as patchy hair loss affecting one or more parts of the scalp in round, clearly defined areas. Sometimes Alopecia Areata will go away on its own, however the symptoms often become more aggressive, affecting a larger portion of the scalp and eventually resulting in Alopecia Totalis, or total loss of all head hair.

most common

types of alopecia

Androgenic Alopecia or the “male baldness pattern”:
Responsible for 95% of cases affecting men in particular. It is triggered by the activation of male hormones in the follicles.

Alopecia Areata:
Hair is lost in irregular, generally round patches. It mainly affects the scalp and the beard, however, it can occur in any part of the body with hair.

Alopecia Totalis:
The total loss of all the hair on the head.

Scarring Alopecia:
Damage, malformation or destruction of the hair follicles leading to irreversible hair loss.

Alopecia through Traction:
Caused by excessive tension of the hair resulting from tightly pulled hair styles.

Alopecia Barbae:
Specifically affects the beard.

Alopecia Mucinosa:
Produced due to the accumulation of mucinous material on hair follicles and sebaceous glands, producing inflammation and a decrease in the ability of the affected follicles to produce hair.

Alopecia Universal:
Involves the fast loss of all hair, including the eyebrows and the eyelashes. This can be acute, of a short duration in many cases but can also be permanent.

There is a possibility that the hair could grow again. However, it cannot be predicted when this could happen.

new weapon in the

fight against alopecia

Every Alopecia treatment is uniquely tailored to the requirements of each client. No two conditions are the same, and neither are our procedures. By approaching each treatment with the clients specific needs in mind, we create the world’s most natural looking hair follicle replications while ensuring that both short term and long term needs are met.

Depending on your requirements, it is possible to treat only the affected areas to hide your current symptoms, or specific solutions are available to treat the entire scalp to account for any future changes in your hair loss pattern. Furthermore, it is not always a requirement to shave any remaining hair, however this should be discussed in detail with your consultant or technician.
